Often called by the nicknames "Wheatie" and "Softie," this robust and personable dog steals the hearts of all those who meet them. Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers come from breeders in Ireland where the breed originated; the AKC has registered puppies in the USA since 1973 (click here for a detailed breed history).
